Health Burden in Port-Adjacent Communities¶
Port emissions don't affect all communities equally. The health impact of PortMiami's operations falls disproportionately on Overtown, Little Haiti, and Allapattah — historically underserved immigrant and Black communities adjacent to the port and the I-395/I-95 corridor. PortMiami's cruise-dominant emissions profile produces a distinctive exposure pattern concentrated during peak cruise turnarounds.
